Artist and Hackensack resident, Poramit Thantapalit has installed an exhibition: "Life Under the Sea", Mixed Media and Cyanotype at the Johnson Public Library. It consists of artwork from the artist's creative output over the past 5 years and combines recycled materials and cyanotype. Mr. Thantapalit turns what most people consider "trash" into fantastic reinterpretations. Some objects used are: plastic bottles, cardboard, wood, paper, wires, electrical cords, computer parts and used clothing. The artist repurposes these everyday scraps into objects of great beauty and worth. Don't miss this opportunity to get a glimpse into this talented artist's imagination. the Hackensack Cultural Arts Department, and NNJCF's ArtsBergen are seeking five artists and/or artist teams to design and paint murals on five utility boxes in the city of Hackensack, NJ.

“Mahwah’s Herstory: The Changing Roles of Women in Mahwah’s History”, examines the role of women in Mahwah’s history, starting with its first settler, Blandina Bayard, and continuing through to 1960. It highlights women’s activities, including pioneering and farming, changing roles in the workforce, and women’s accomplishments in the arts, in charitable organizations and in social reforms.
“Medicine in Mahwah” highlights the history of medicine in Mahwah. It examines the growth and development of the medical field with highlights on Mahwah’s practitioners, their methods, and instruments throughout various periods.

June 7, 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dean Martin, one of the most popular and enduring American entertainers of the mid-20th century. New Jersey native Dave DeLuca is an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician and recording engineer who has been performing for over 30 years. He is a member of the songwriter's Guild of America and has had songs published by BMI In December 2011, Dave auditioned for and won a starring role in the Count Basie Theatre's "5h Annual Sinatra Birthday Bash", beating out hundreds of other hopeful performers. He is currently overseeing production of "The Star-Spangled Songbook", a tribute to the great American composers and lyricists who crafted our body of popular standards, for a future airing on PBS.

During the course of his career he has sold over 10 million albums and charted eleven #1 singles. In 2002 he released Cantando A Mi Idolo... Frankie Ruiz (Singing To My Idol... Frankie Ruiz) a tribute album to one of his idols Frankie Ruiz. The album garnered him a Latin Grammy nomination.
