Avocado Dip

Enjoy this dip without feeling guilty about it. Avocados are a great source of dietary fiber, vitamin K, copper, folate,  potassium, vitamin E, and vitamin C. Also, skipping the chips and using peppers is a great way to cut down on calories while adding nutrients to your body.  


Avocado dip
  • 1 ripe avocado, halved, seeded, and peeled
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 cup light dairy sour cream
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Lime wedge (optional)
  • 4 medium red, yellow, and/or green sweet peppers, seeded and cut into strips


In a medium bowl, use a fork to mash avocado with lemon juice. Stir in sour cream, garlic, and salt. If desired, garnish with a lime wedge. Serve with pepper strips.

Makes: 8 servings
Serving Size: (2 tablespoons dip and 1/2 of a sweet pepper per serving).
